Our Pixel Tubes come in three sizes:
- The PIXEL-100 has two rows of 50 RGBW Pixels (100 pixels)
- The PIXEL-200 has two rows of 100 RGBW Pixels (200 pixels)
- The PIXEL-300 has two rows of 150 RGBW Pixels (300 pixels)
Each tube has Input connections at one end and output connections at the other.
Each tube also has two different modes it can run in: Parallel and Copy mode (see additional information).
Many other available pixel tube systems are supplied as a frosted/opalised tube only and serve very well as ‘Eye Candy’ for people to look directly at. However, if you require Pixel tubes that project 100% of their light in the direction you want it (onto a stage or at a person, for example), then go CLEAR.
Opalising/Frosting sacrifices some of the light power to give a smoother look to the tube; we have solved this issue by offering “Glare-Soft” tape for all tubes. This tape is easy to fit and remove if needed, and is supplied on rolls from our accessories page.
“Opalised or Clear, our Pixel Tubes win either way”
All of our Pixel tubes incorporate “dual-aspect pixels”, meaning that not only do the left and right Pixel lines work independently, they also exclusively shine to the left or the right, giving the best command of light zones & colour separation, a feature not found in any other pixel tube on the market.
All SmartShow Pixel Tubes have multiple mounting options; see additional information.

Connectors & Power
- It is important to know which end of the tube is the Input and which is the output. This is marked on the end panels of the tube and will help you when feeding data in/out and planning the mapping of your tubes.
- At the input end, there is a 4-way pluggable screw terminal that is marked “IN” with connections left-to-right: 0V (ground), A (data in A), B (data in B), and 5V.
- At the output end, there is another 4-way pluggable screw terminal that is marked “OUT” with connections left-to-right: 0V (ground), B (data out B), A (data out A), and 5V.
- Additionally, at the “IN” end, there is a two-way switch, which switches the mode of operation of the tube between PARALLEL and COPY modes.
When set to PARALLEL mode, whatever data goes into Data-In-A, goes to the left pixels, then out of the Data-Out-A connection (at the OUT end). The same will go for Data-In-B, except going to the right-hand side and out of Data-Out-B
When set to COPY mode, whatever goes into data in A, goes to both the left and right pixels at the same time (thus doubling-up), the last pixels data out will go to both Data-Out-A and Data-Out-B, and the same data will appear on the unused Data-In-B terminal (at the IN end), this features is very useful when wiring up lots of tubes from the same end.

Mounting options
- Tubes can be mounted vertically from floor height using our TUBE-HC-Base stand (not included), which grips either end of the tube and locks it in place vertically.
- Tubes can also be mounted right into the corner of a room (facing the corner), or flush against a wall, using the same TUBE-HC-Base on its alternative mounting position.
- The TUBE-HC-Base has a ¼” UNC20 thread/stud if the tube needs to be hung or mounted on a similarly threaded system.
- Tubes can be mounted in other directions using our TUBE-Grip, which converts any ¼” UNC20 thread to a grip that holds the tube at any angle and any position along the tube length.
- Our TUBE-Grip-DIN (not included) is similar to the TUBE-Grip except this has a 35mm DIN Rail mount fitted.
- The TUBE-Grip options can hold the tube at any rotational angle, making this an almost limitless mounting accessory.
